Introducing our Centre Director

Emily Matthews

Qualifications & background

  • Diploma of Early Childhood Education
  • Bachelor degree, majoring in Psychology
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Emergency Asthma and Anaphylaxis

Emily has been working in the Early Childhood Education and care sector for over 12 years. During her career she has had the opportunity to work alongside all children of different ages (babies to Kindergarten). Through his experience she has grown into an experience educator and Centre Director.

Emily’s goal is to create a welcoming, nurturing and safe environment for all children (and staff) who are under her care and supervision. She believes that all children are unique in their own ways and should have a safe environment to express these feelings, personalities and opportunities in a fun and respected way by all.

Emily encourages her team of Educators to share their knowledge, cultures, interests and skills with fellow educators and the centre. This helps to provide a sense of belonging within the centre and bring awareness of other people’s believes and values. Emily is always looking for ways that she can improve the service and loves to hear feedback from the families, children and staff.

One of Emily’s favourite things about the industry is being able to work alongside children and help them to achieve milestones, skills and discover new things within their world, “it always brings joy to me when you see children achieve something on their own and see the excitement and pride on their faces” During Emily’s time in the sector, she has witnessed many children grow and develop from babies to starting Primary School. She finds it very comforting to know that she along with her fellow educators have made such a positive impact on a child’s life.
